Clothing security tags, also referred to as anti-shoplifting devices, are small plastic pieces containing an antenna. Equally essential for stores and consumers alike, these tags are now often placed on the front of clothing to make them easier to read. Modernized tags now feature low frequency or very high frequency (VHF) RFID technology so they can be scanned from a distance with a handheld reader.

EAS anti-theft alarm system is a security tag system consisting of tags, electronic article surveillance (EAS) equipment (laser scanner, tag deactivator, etc.), and tags checkers. Security tags are used by manufacturers to deter theft during shipping and storage. A security tag will set off an alarm if it passes through the EAS anti-theft alarm system. The alarm is turned off with a deactivator or removed with a tag detacher.

When you spend the time and money on clothes, you want to be able to keep them. And that’s why many stores use clothing security tags. These tags are typically concealed on the inside of the garment and cannot be detected by the wearer unless they rip out a small bit of fabric. These tags will then set off an alarm, alerting store personnel and discouraging theft of your clothes.
